I have always been obsessed with make-up, even from a very young age. I would sneak into my mother’s vanity and try on her lipstick, I’dapply mascara to my eyebrows and I’d powder my face until I looked like I was an extra in a ghostly movie.
Throughout my teenage years, I very rarely went shopping without coming home with a bag filled with make-up that I didn’t need. My make up was stored in drawers rather than makeup bags, and I would intentionally get up earlier just to make sure that I had done my face before school.
Oh how the times have changed, my make-up collection now fits perfectly inside a medium-sized make-up bag. The hour-long makeup routine is now under 10 minutes, and the blue mascara and Trump-like complexion have long gone.
Here’s what’s inside my make up bag.
Real Techniques Everyday Essentials brush set
Maybelline Dream Satin Liquid Foundation
I am so picky when it comes to foundation, I fall out of love with the ones that I use so easily. However, I have been using Dream Satin for a while now, and I love it! I was able to find a shade that matched my skin tone perfectly, and it lasts all day. Dream satin leaves a perfect dewy finish with full coverage and doesn’t transfer. A little goes a very long way with this product too!
Bourjois Healthy Mix Anti-Fatigue Concealer
I love, love, love Bourjois Healthy mix collection! I have used this concealer for a long, long time now because, to me, there is nothing that can top it! It is a great, lightweight concealer. This product is the perfect product for us mothers, a little goes a long way, and it does cover the terrible bags under my eyes. It leaves my skin looking healthy and glowy, which is perfect for the days where I don’t want to wear much make-up but where I want to look presentable. The concealer lasts all day long, and you don’t even need to use powder! What a golden product.
Maybelline Colossal big shot Waterproof Mascara
My eyes have always been my favourite feature. People always compliment the colour, so when I got my glasses I was a little taken back. I felt that I was hiding away my favourite feature, and it left me feeling somewhat vulnerable. Crazy, I know! I did some googling and read about how, when done right, you can still make your eyes “pop” even with frames.
I experimented and finally settled for longer eyelashes which to me, made me feel like my eyes could still be the wow factor. For me, the colossal big shot is the best of the best. The length that it adds to my lashes is incredible. It doesn’t clump and it doesn’t transfer, it is also definitely waterproof.
Rimmel Magnif’eyes lasting finish eye primer
I love this eye primer. It’s one of the cheaper ones on the market but for me, you cannot beat it. A little goes a long way, and it keeps my eyeshadow on for the whole day. No moving, nothing. Cheap but certainly cheerful.
NYX eyebrow gel
I have used this product for absolute years. With this product, you only need a tiny bit. I learnt this the hard way. The product goes on with such precision, and the texture makes my brows look more natural than any product that I have used before it.
Perfect for my non-existant brows!
Rimmel London Stay Matte pressed powder
I don’t use too
Maybelline baby skin pore eraser primer
I do like the Benefit one but I heard that this is a good dupe. I am all for saving money so I gave it a go and haven’t looked back since. It is a great product, does what it says and helps make my make-up look smooth. Perfect!
NYX prep & set gift set
This trio is the perfect combination to get the very best out of my make-up. The setting spray also keeps my make-up in place for the whole day. Another set I couldn’t live without!
And that my lovelies is that. I love these products and honestly, I am sure I will stick with these for more than just Autumn. Do you have any firm favourites? What would you recommend?
