Living arrows 02/52

You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth. – Kahlil Gibran.

Wow. Here we are, starting our second week of 2018 already! I am so, so happy to be able to carry on joining in with the Living Arrows linky for a second year. Living Arrows has become something of a tradition now in our family. It’s a way to remember all the little things of our youngsters childhood that we maybe wouldn’t have given a second thought before. I know that sounds bad but parenthood is a super busy place, nobody will judge you for that.

This week I have been super poorly and unable to leave the sofa meaning Shaniah spent most of her time with her Grandma. However after numerous trips to the doctors I was starting to take the road to recovery in time for a fun-filled weekend!

Saturday saw us spend the afternoon at her cousins 6th birthday party. It was a fancy dress party much to Shaniah’s excitement and she spent the majority of the morning trying on a load of princess dresses until she found the one.

Sunday, Shaniah wanted to get some roller skates. During the lead up to Christmas my mother and her partner took Shaniah ice-skating quite a bit and towards the end of December she had become that confident on the ice that she no longer wanted to be pushed about instead she insisted on trying her hardest to stand up and skate. Although at three, you can imagine it was more a scene from Bambi than Torvill and Dean. She persevered and it’s now her favourite thing to do. Unable to put an ice-rink in our garden she settled for the next best thing – Roller skates! She hasn’t taken them off since!
