Wow! What a crazy couple of weeks that has been. So much excitement has happened over the past few weeks, and as much as I love writing on here, nothing beats that quality family time. Shaniah had become super hyper with the build up to Christmas, each day waking up that little bit earlier. At one point we even managed to be up and ‘functioning’ before Cbeebies… What on earth do you do when that happens? I mean let’s be honest here, I struggle trying to make every hour of our normal days exciting without having to add-on a few more!
We managed to make it to Christmas though and it was perfect. It wasn’t without its flaws however, Shaniah managed to walk straight past her presents because she was too concerned whether Father Christmas had touched the food and drink on the plate. I managed to drop a heavy frying pan with a saucepan stacked inside on my foot then proceed to drop the hot oven rack on it when removing the turkey and nearly chop my toe off with a sharp knife when preparing the vegetables! And that was all before 11am!
Despite that we managed to go on to have a perfect day with my parents, brother and Nan. I cooked a 3 course meal and they all survived which I think is pretty good going considering how the day started.
I was truly blessed with all my gifts, I loved them all so very much! So much in fact I have planned a post on some of the gifts Shaniah and I have received this Christmas.
Shaniah received more gifts than our home has room for meaning that the Pre-Christmas toy removal was completely underestimated and a post-Christmas toy removal is so on the cards… arghh!
We totally screwed up with the wrapping paper this year because not one of the wrapping papers that I used turned out to be rip-able. What is Christmas if you aren’t able to rip into the gift as a child? Unbelievable.
Boxing day was spent with Ryan and his family where we had Christmas dinner number two! And again, Shaniah was spoilt with love and gifts and I was sporting one heck of a bugger of a hangover. Soo unsociable, I just wanted my bed or at least a dark room!
That’s a wrap.
I could sit here and go on for hours about just how perfectly imperfect our day was but in all honesty, you haven’t got time to read me ramble about my food coma and I have a whole load of Christmas induced room tidying to do. I’ve got to burn this turkey off some how right?!
So I will call time on this post here and end it with me wishing you all the best for 2018! I am looking forward to continuing sharing our days with you. I hope you bring in the new year with those that you love so dear close by.
All the best for 2018 and beyond!
