KFC Style Chicken

It’s that time of the week again. Friday is upon us and so is a recipe. This recipe was inspired by a fellow blogger chat where each day someone in there has rocked up at their local KFC and everyone else in the chat is super grumpy because they’re now craving the glorious 11 herbs and spices covered chicken delights.

Although the original recipe is kept under in secret and no recipe will ever completely match up to the delicious golden chicken, this recipe will leave your taste buds satisfied until you get to the real thing!

KFC style chicken

This recipe is super easy to create as most of the ingredients will be found on your spice rack. Simply Grab some chicken and get dunking!

Ingredients

♦ Chicken Legs

♦  Flour

♦ Mustard Flour. I use Buff and Butter because its no more expensive than those bought at the supermarkets but it tastes fresher and you get a better flavour.

♦ Ginger powder

♦ Salt

♦ White Pepper

♦ Black Pepper

♦ Thyme

♦ Smoked Paprika

♦ Garlic Powder

♦ Onion Powder

♦ Milk

♦ Lemon Juice

Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 180ºc. Heat a pan on medium-high with oil.
  2. Put milk into a small bowl and add the lemon juice. Give it a stir and leave it alone.
  3. Mix all the dry ingredients in the large bowl. Toss the chicken in the dry mix one at a time and then place on a rack.
  4. Dip the chicken into the milk/lemon mixture. It should be thick now.
  5. Shake off the excess liquid and place it into the flour mixture again. Cover the chicken with flour then take it out and place it back on the rack. Do this with all the chicken until they are fully coated.
  6. Fry the chicken for 2 minutes each side until they start to go golden. Place them back on the rack.
  7. When all the pieces are done place the chicken in the oven for about 30 minutes to make sure the chicken is cooked. Turn them over halfway through.
