Homemade toddler approved Burger!

Meal times can be hard. Finding a meal that the whole family will not only eat but enjoy too is difficult. Especially when a toddler is thrown into the mix.

If your toddler is anything like mine, the thought of eating anything that isn’t a kinder egg or a packet of crisps ends in tantrums. They just don’t enjoy proper meals! If your toddler does, I salute you. You clearly have this parenting malarkey down to a tee.

Food Friday is back again for another year and we are kicking this year off with a cheap and tasty homemade burger which has been Toddler approved!

The burger is an all time favourite especially in the summer on a BBQ! With the days being that little bit colder now we are in the early months of the year. Why not¬†reminisce on those joyful sunny days with this super easy burger recipe? Delicious beef burgers packed with onion for extra flavour. The perfect cheap and quick meal that even the fussiest of eaters can’t say no to.

Classic Homemade Burger
A cheap and easy meal that is fussy toddler approved!
Beef burger with a side of coleslaw and chips with mayo

Beef burger with a side of coleslaw and chips with mayo
Instructions
  1. Heat the oil in a pan and add the onion. Cook for about 5 minutes until slightly softened and starting to turn golden. Set aside.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the mince with the herbs and egg. season with salt and pepper then add the onions and continue to mix well
  3. Using a round cookie cutter take some of the burger mixture and push the mixture into the cutter to form a burger. remove the cutter and repeat until all the burgers are formed.
  4. Cook the burgers on a griddle pan for about 6 minutes each side. when the second side is cooking place the Stilton on top to melt slightly.
  5. Finally, lightly toast the cut sides of the burger in the pan and then fill it with lettuce and tomato. Add the burger and serve with salad and chips.

    These look amazing. We love homemade burgers since trying the Pork and Apple ones from Eat Well For Less. We have been trying out our own ones too such as lamb and garlic and a Christmas burger with turkey mince and stuffing. Great your daughter is trying different food too. Just seen your other recipes so am going on a binge read some point xx
